Environmental & Social Manager

A leading industrial company is seeking an experienced Environmental & Social Manager to lead the implementation of environmental and social management systems, ensuring compliance with national legislation, ESIA commitments, and international lender requirements throughout all project phases.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation and monitoring of ESIA commitments, ESMP, and ESAP requirements.
• Ensure compliance with environmental legislation and international standards.
• Coordinate with regulatory authorities, consultants, lenders, and project stakeholders.
• Manage environmental permitting processes and compliance obligations.
• Develop and implement environmental and social monitoring programs.
• Conduct environmental audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
• Prepare environmental and social reports for management and external stakeholders.
• Support community engagement and grievance management.
• Deliver environmental awareness and training programs.
• Maintain compliance tracking systems and environmental documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience in environmental and social management within industrial, mining, energy, or infrastructure projects.
• Practical experience with ESIA, ESMP, and ESAP implementation.
• Good knowledge of IFC Performance Standards, Equator Principles, and environmental monitoring.
• Experience working with EPC contractors and regulatory authorities.
• NEBOSH Environmental Management and/or ISO 14001 certification is an advantage.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent English and Azerbaijani; Russian is an advantage.
• Willingness to travel to project sites when required.
