Material Request Coordinator

Tank Construction Project

Key Responsibilities

• Review engineering drawings, specifications, BOQs, MTOs, and other project documentation to identify material requirements.
• Prepare and issue Material Requisitions (MRs) in accordance with project schedules and construction priorities.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Warehouse, and Construction teams regarding material requirements and availability.
• Verify material quantities, specifications, and delivery requirements before submission of requests.
• Maintain and update Material Requisition logs and tracking registers.
• Monitor the status of submitted material requests and follow up with relevant stakeholders.
• Support procurement activities by providing technical and quantity-related clarifications when required.
• Identify potential material shortages and communicate risks to project management.
• Assist in material forecasting and planning activities.
• Ensure all material requests comply with project specifications, company procedures, and client requirements.
• Prepare periodic material status reports for project management.
• Participate in project progress meetings related to material planning and availability.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in material coordination, material requisition, procurement support, or project controls within industrial construction projects.
• Experience in storage tank construction, oil & gas, petrochemical, EPC, or heavy industrial projects is highly preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, material specifications, BOQs, and MTOs.
• Strong knowledge of material management and procurement processes.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms is considered an advantage.
• Strong organizational, communication, and coordination skills.
• Good command of English, both written and verbal.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working on API 650 storage tank construction projects.
• Familiarity with structural steel, piping, plate materials, welding consumables, and construction-related materials.
• Previous experience supporting Procurement and Construction teams in large-scale industrial projects.
