Mechanical Engineer (Industrial Projects)

Job Responsibilities

• Review mechanical drawings, calculations, specifications, vendor documents and technical documentation issued by the Engineering team, and provide comments to ensure compliance with project requirements, applicable standards and constructability.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering, construction, procurement, HSE and QA/QC teams throughout project execution.
• Provide technical support and supervision during construction, installation, testing, pre-commissioning, commissioning and project close-out activities.
• Coordinate construction activities in accordance with the approved project schedule and project priorities.
• Monitor construction progress and ensure all activities are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements and project requirements.
• Coordinate daily site activities with contractors, subcontractors, vendors and Client representatives.
• Attend site inspections, technical meetings, coordination meetings and progress review meetings.
• Review RFIs, Technical Queries (TQs), Site Instructions (SIs), Method Statements, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and other project documentation.
• Coordinate material availability, site readiness and resource allocation to avoid delays and disruptions to construction activities.
• Coordinate and supervise mechanical installation, hydrotesting, flushing, pressure testing, pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.
• Support QA/QC inspections and ensure completed works comply with project specifications and applicable standards prior to handover.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly progress reports, technical reports, work packages and other project documentation.
• Prepare punch lists, monitor punch item closure and support mechanical completion, system handover and final project close-out activities.
• Verify as-built drawings and red-line markups to ensure accuracy before project close-out.
• Ensure compliance with HSE requirements and promote safe work practices throughout all construction activities.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in industrial, energy, oil & gas, manufacturing or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of international engineering standards and codes, including ASME, API, ISO, ANSI and other applicable standards.
• Ability to review engineering drawings, specifications, vendor documentation and construction packages.
• Experience in construction supervision, site coordination and mechanical installation works.
• Familiarity with QA/QC procedures, inspection requirements, testing and commissioning activities.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Good command of written and spoken English.

Working Conditions

• Two days off per week.
