Assistant Banquet Manager

Job responsibilities
- Assist the Banquet Manager in overseeing the daily banquet and event operations.
- Ensure all functions, conferences, weddings, meetings, and special events are executed according to hotel standards and guest expectations.
- Coordinate with Sales, Kitchen, Stewarding, Housekeeping, Front Office, Engineering, and Security departments to ensure seamless event execution.
- Supervise banquet colleagues during event setup, service, and breakdown, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to service standards.
- Conduct pre-function briefings and provide continuous coaching to the banquet team.
- Monitor staffing levels and support scheduling based on business demands.
- Ensure all banquet venues are prepared, presented, and maintained to the highest quality standards.
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests, feedback, and service recovery situations.
- Assist in monitoring labor costs, operating expenses, and inventory control.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, health & safety, and company policies.
- Support the Banquet Manager in training, mentoring, and evaluating team members while fostering a positive working environment.
- Prepare operational reports and assist with departmental administrative tasks as required.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Banquet or Food & Beverage Operations, including at least 1 year in a supervisory position.
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or a related field is an advantage.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proven ability to lead teams in a fast-paced environment while maintaining exceptional service standards.
- Strong knowledge of banquet service procedures, event planning, and operational standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; experience with hotel management systems is an advantage.
- Good command of English; additional languages are considered a plus.
- Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays according to operational requirements.
