Graduate Electrical Engineer

Work Location: Baku

Position Overview:

• This position offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated Graduate Electrical Engineer to begin and develop a professional career in electrical engineering. The role provides practical exposure to various stages of engineering projects, allowing the successful candidate to apply academic knowledge while gaining hands-on experience. Working alongside experienced engineers, the Graduate Electrical Engineer will contribute to engineering activities, technical documentation and project execution while developing a strong understanding of electrical systems, industry standards and engineering practices. The position also provides exposure to multidisciplinary projects and supports the development of both technical and professional skills.

Key Functions:

• Assist senior engineers in the preparation of electrical designs, calculations, specifications and technical drawing
• Support the preparation and review of single-line diagrams (SLDs), load schedules, cable schedules, cable sizing and equipment specifications
• Assist with engineering activities related to LV, MV and HV electrical system
• Support the selection and specification of electrical equipment such as switchgear, transformers, MCCs, UPS systems, lighting systems and associated equipment
• Assist in preparing technical datasheets, material requisitions, RFQs and other procurement documentation
• Support the technical review and evaluation of vendor and OEM documentation
• Assist with the preparation of technical bid evaluations and compliance matrices
• Develop knowledge of applicable international electrical codes and standards, including IEC, NEC and IEEE
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, including Instrumentation, HVAC, Fire Safety and Telecommunications
• Participate in technical meetings, design reviews and project coordination meetings as required
• Assist in responding to technical queries from clients, vendors and project teams under the supervision of senior engineers
• Support Project Managers and engineering teams in tracking engineering deliverables and project requirements
• Provide technical support to construction, installation and commissioning teams when required
• Participate in site visits, inspections, testing and commissioning activities under supervision
• Assist with Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), where applicable
• Maintain accurate engineering documentation and ensure proper filing and revision control
• Follow company procedures, HSE requirements, quality standards and project specifications
• Continuously develop technical knowledge through practical assignments, training and mentoring from experienced engineers

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
• Recent graduates or candidates with 0-2 years of relevant experience are encouraged to apply
• Basic academic knowledge of electrical power systems, electrical machines, protection systems and electrical distribution systems
• Previous internship or practical experience in Oil & Gas, Energy, Construction or Industrial projects would be an advantage but is not mandatory

Skills & Competencies:

• Basic knowledge of LV, MV and HV electrical systems and components
• Basic understanding of electrical drawings, schematics and single-line diagrams
• Familiarity with electrical design software such as AutoCAD
• Basic understanding of international electrical codes and standards
• Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Willingness and ability to learn new engineering tools, systems and standard
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skill
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary engineering environment
• Ability to manage assigned tasks and meet deadlines
• Fluency in Azerbaijani and English; Russian language skills are advantageous
