Senior Backend.NET Developer

Location: Baku, Azerbaijan (Office / Hybrid)

Where we are

• We’re an insurance company in the middle of a major backend and infrastructure transformation.
• Our systems today are built across large .NET applications, legacy .NET Framework platforms, MS SQL Server databases, internal integrations, and enterprise systems. Where we’re going: microservices, distributed systems, event-driven architecture, S3-compatible storage, containerized deployments, scalable APIs, and modern backend engineering standards.
• The direction is already clear. What we need now is someone experienced enough to help execute it properly.

The role

• This is a deeply hands-on backend engineering position.

We are looking for a strong Mid-to-Senior or Senior C#/.NET developer who can work comfortably in complex enterprise systems and build reliable production-grade backend solutions.

You’ll be actively involved in:

• Designing and developing backend services using C# and .NET
• Working on both modern .NET and legacy .NET Framework 4.8 systems
• Building and maintaining Web API and ASP.NET Core services
• Designing scalable APIs and integrations
• Building and maintaining microservices
• Working with message queues and asynchronous processing
• Containerizing services using Docker
• Working with S3-compatible object storage
• Optimizing performance of existing systems and APIs
• Refactoring legacy systems into cleaner, maintainable architectures
• Supporting high-load and business-critical systems
• Troubleshooting production issues and improving system reliability

What we need

• 4+ years of professional backend development experience with C# /.NET
• Strong hands-on experience with ASP.NET Core, Web API, and RESTful services
• Strong experience with legacy .NET Framework 4.8 applications
• Real experience building and working with microservices
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and backend architecture
• Experience with RabbitMQ, Kafka, Azure Service Bus, or similar message queue technologies
• Experience with Docker and containerized environments
• Experience with S3-compatible storage systems
• Strong SQL Server knowledge, including query optimization and troubleshooting
• Experience with background services, asynchronous processing, and caching
• Understanding of secure API design, JWT, OAuth, and authentication flows
• Experience working with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment processes
• Strong debugging and production troubleshooting skills
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, production-ready code

Nice to have:

• PostgreSQL experience
• Redis or distributed caching experience
• Kubernetes experience
• Experience with observability and monitoring platforms
• Experience with event-driven architecture patterns
• Experience modernizing legacy enterprise systems
