Senior Editor (News Output)

On behalf of Euronews, IRES is looking for an experienced Senior Editor (News Output) to join an international media project in Baku.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the news desk during assigned shifts
• Select stories, determine running order and assign tasks
• Edit scripts, headlines and on-screen text
• Lead editorial decision-making during breaking news coverage
• Verify sources and content before broadcast
• Ensure editorial standards are consistently applied
• Plan coverage with correspondents and the planning desk
• Coach journalists and contribute to editorial guidelines

Requirements:

• Minimum 10 years of experience in news journalism
• At least 5 years as a Senior Editor, Output Editor or Shift Editor
• Proven experience leading live breaking news coverage
• Excellent Azerbaijani writing and editing skills
• Good working English
• Strong editorial judgement and leadership skills
