Senior System Administrator

Position Summary 

• FINCA Azerbaijan is seeking an experienced Senior System Administrator to lead the administration and continuous improvement of the organization's enterprise server, storage, virtualization, and cloud infrastructure. The role ensures the reliability, security, and performance of mission-critical systems across Windows and Linux environments, and supports modern infrastructure technologies including hybrid cloud, container platforms, and enterprise backup. The Senior System Administrator also plays a key role in maintaining enterprise infrastructure standards, ensuring security compliance, implementing disaster recovery strategies, and mentoring junior administrators.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer enterprise server, storage, and virtualization platforms, including VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, and SAN/NAS systems. 
• Manage hybrid cloud environments across private cloud, AWS, and Microsoft Azure. 
• Administer identity and collaboration platforms, including Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft 365, and Intune. 
• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise backup and disaster recovery solutions using Veeam Backup & Replication. 
• Support security, compliance, and monitoring activities, including infrastructure hardening, privileged access management, and audit support. 
• Provide platform-level support for business applications, in coordination with the MIS Unit. 
• Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and infrastructure change management activities. 
• Mentor junior administrators and contribute to infrastructure modernization initiatives. 

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of overall experience in system administration, with at least 5 years in a senior or lead capacity.
• Hands-on experience administering Windows Server, Linux, and enterprise virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere HA, vSAN, Hyper-V).
• Experience with enterprise server hardware (HP, Dell, VxRail) and storage systems (FiberChannel, iSCSI, CIFS/SMB, vSAN). 
• In-depth experience with enterprise backup systems.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive).
• Experience administering business application platforms (database engines, application servers, middleware) is an advantage. 
• Certifications in Microsoft, Linux, VMware, Veeam, or Qualys are advantageous.

Languages

• Azerbaijani (proficient) and English (technical) required. Russian (conversational) preferred.
