Shipping and Customs Officer

We are looking for an experienced Shipping and Customs Officer to support shipping, customs clearance, transportation, and supply chain activities, ensuring the safe and timely delivery of goods in compliance with project requirements and applicable customs regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Arrange, monitor, and coordinate shipping and customs activities from collection through final delivery.
• Monitor shipment and supply progress to ensure compliance with contractual delivery dates.
• Prepare transport plans and determine the most appropriate transportation methods, routes, schedules, and costs.
• Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs agents, vendors, and relevant internal departments.
• Prepare and verify documentation required for import, export, transit, shipping, and customs formalities.
• Ensure compliance with applicable customs rules and regulations.
• Monitor shipments from goods collection through final receipt and maintain complete shipment records.
• Review Purchase Orders and contractual documentation to identify discrepancies and prevent potential delays.
• Follow up with vendors regarding order acknowledgement, supply schedules, shipping readiness, and documentation.
• Monitor all stages of the supply chain and proactively identify and mitigate potential delays.
• Support the purchasing team in defining transportation budgets and appropriate contractual delivery terms.
• Maintain accurate and timely records in SAP.
• Monitor freight forwarder, customs agent, and vendor performance.
• Ensure proper archiving and traceability of shipping and customs documentation.
• Support the management of delivery milestones, Goods Receipts, vendor claims, and delay-related matters.
• Ensure full compliance with Company HSEQ policies and procedures.

Requirements:

• Higher education.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a similar Shipping, Customs, Logistics, or Supply Chain position.
• Fluent Azerbaijani and English.
• Good knowledge of shipping, transportation, customs procedures, and documentation.
• Strong negotiation and coordination skills.
• Knowledge of SAP is preferable.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to coordinate multiple shipments and priorities simultaneously.
