Civil Engineer – Railway & Highway Design Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review detailed designs for railway and highway infrastructure projects.
• Develop horizontal and vertical alignments, profiles, cross-sections, and corridor designs.
• Prepare engineering drawings, technical specifications, and design documentation.
• Perform and review engineering calculations related to roads, railways, earthworks, drainage, and related infrastructure.
• Coordinate with survey, geotechnical, structural, drainage, and other engineering disciplines.
• Review design drawings and ensure compliance with applicable standards and project requirements.
• Assist with quantity take-offs, BOQs, and cost estimates.
• Participate in technical meetings and coordinate with clients, consultants, and contractors.
• Identify design issues and propose practical engineering solutions.
• Ensure designs meet applicable railway/highway standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in railway and/or highway/road design.
• Strong knowledge of transportation infrastructure design principles.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D or similar design software.
• Knowledge of road/rail alignment, grading, earthworks, drainage, and geometric design.
• Ability to read and prepare engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Good analytical, communication, and coordination skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team.
• Knowledge of relevant international design standards is an advantage.
• Previous experience on large-scale infrastructure projects is preferred.
• Fluency in Azerbaijani and English; Russian is an advantage.
