Vessel Operations Engineer (Senior / Expert Level)

IRES is currently looking for experienced Vessel Operations Engineers (Senior / Expert Level) for a major Oil & Gas / Offshore Construction project.

The position involves assignments both at the Base Office and onboard an Offshore Construction Vessel.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide engineering reviews and operational advice to support project and tender objectives
• Support technical tenders by identifying efficient and cost-effective operational solutions
• Define and verify appropriate equipment and vessel assignments during the engineering/design phase
• Review installation procedures and ensure their technical correctness and operational efficiency
• Verify project schedules against actual vessel productivity and operational readiness
• Lead and interpret naval and structural analyses related to the installation of pipelines and offshore platforms
• Recommend operational improvements based on vessel and project requirements
• Participate in critical installation phases onboard vessels and at preparation yards
• Coordinate closely with vessel management to ensure effective transfer from engineering to offshore execution
• Identify equipment gaps and optimisation opportunities onboard vessels and at yards
• Participate in risk evaluation and procedure review meetings with vessel personnel and management
• Contribute to the preparation and improvement of standard installation methods for the vessel fleet
• Capture lessons learned and support effective knowledge management
• Ensure full compliance with QA/QC, HSE and HSEQ requirements

Requirements:

• Degree in Civil, Mechanical or Naval Engineering
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a similar role within the Oil & Gas / Construction sector
• Strong practical experience related to offshore construction and vessel operations
• Knowledge of applicable standards, codes and regulations for offshore structures
• Ability to assess vessel suitability, equipment requirements and installation methodologies
• Strong understanding of offshore pipeline/platform installation activities
• Ability to work effectively with engineering teams, project management and offshore vessel personnel
• Fluent English and Azerbaijani
• Availability to work in both onshore and offshore environments
