Database administrator (DBA)

The Baku Stock Exchange is seeking a Database administrator (DBA) with strong expertise in PostgreSQL on Linux (RHEL) and experience working with MSSQL on Windows Server. This role is focused on ensuring database reliability, performance, and security, as well as supporting operations teams in daily database activities.

Key Responsibilities

Database Administration

• Install, configure, and maintain PostgreSQL database servers. 
• Monitor database performance, optimize queries, and tune system resources. 
• Design and implement backup, recovery, and high-availability solutions. 
• Plan and execute database upgrades, migrations, and patch management. 
• Manage user access, roles, and security policies. 
• Optimize SQL queries and database schema design. 
• Collaborate with system and network teams to optimize infrastructure. 

Documentation & Support

• Maintain up-to-date technical documentation, including procedures and architecture diagrams. 
• Participate in on-call rotations for database incidents. 
• Collaborate with development teams on infrastructure and application improvements. 

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as a PostgreSQL / Oracle DBA in production environments. 
• Experience in writing SQL queries and scripts. 
• Strong understanding of SQL, database internals, and query optimization. 
• Experience in Linux system administration (preferably RHEL or CentOS). 
• Experience with backup and recovery tools (e.g., Barman). 
• Knowledge of replication and clustering technologies, WAL management, and performance tuning. 
• Experience with monitoring tools and performance diagnostics. 
• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI).
